Dear readers,
Since resigning from my middle school teaching job in 2022, I’ve been soaking up the uninterrupted time with my family and my three daughters, Alba, River, and Poet. But I’ve also been wracking my brain with what’s next. When I decided to quit my job, I did so knowing that my priority was being a Mama because these fleeting days seemed to be catching up to me. But I also knew I needed something else.
I wanted to share stories. Stories that would help others, excite others, and connect a community very dear to my heart. That’s when I started Mama-ish.
I’ve also been working on a new project for several months now that I can’t wait to share once it’s ready.
But no matter what I do and where I go, I seem to always find my way back to writing and stories.
I have gone through my own journey becoming a Mama, and I have leaned on other Mama’s stories.
So, grab a coffee, a glass, maybe a bottle, of wine, or just a quiet nook, and lean into my Mama-ish lifestyle.
Mama-ish is a community of stories on motherhood, womanhood, and the road to finding, meeting, and loving our evolving identities.
These are the breaths of our stories,
Erika James
